This magnificent album contains first time recordings of music by three Swedish composers: Anna-Karin Klockar, Ingunn Ligaarden and the late Sven-David Sandström. Sandström is a giant in Swedish contemporary choral music and is respresented here by two – not previously recorded – works.
The title track, Even When He is Silent, is a text written by an anonymous person. It was found after World War 2 on a wall in an underground room in Cologne. The room was a hiding place for Jewish refugees and deals with hope in the darkest hour.
